I need help.

I have a pair of Air Jordan I Red/Black in my closet, size 8 1/2, that I purchased in 1985 when they came out. They are worn, but in very good condition....these are not re-issues.

I want to sell them on ebay or similar, but have NO idea what to start the bid at, and searching the web has been....not helpful.

This is NOT a solicitation to sell to anyone....I just don't know even where to start.....one guy I know who collects sneakers feels they will be worth $500.00-$1,000...that may be the case, but I still need to have an idea of where to look.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Considering how new ones go for north of 500 because of how limited they are, I'd say at that price range is a good starting point. Heck, people get attacked and even killed whenever a new pair comes out. That's how crazy fans get. My friend bought the new ones that came out a few weeks ago and had to get police escorted out of the mall all the way to his car. Then again yours are still used. I think the hard part will be finding a collector willing to buy used though.

Hi STeven,

I don't know myself, but I did an eBay search of COMPLETED AJ1's and came up with 60 entries. Anything in red didn't sell, anything in green did.

Completed listings = Real world value.

I have the Air Jordan Collezione countdown package 5/18 and I believe those go for $400-$500 so I wouldn't be surprised if your originals were $500+ Used and $1K+ Mint.

I sold my Air Jordan 1's last year on ebay. Had no clue what to ask either. Mine were in great shape and had only been worn a couple of times. I put a $320 buy it now on them and they sold within minutes of the posting. Should have started the bid at $0.99 and just let it ride.

Steve, I was very much into shoes and used to own many original Air Jordans. If those are in good condition I couldn't see them going for any less than $500 and I am being very conservative with that estimate. If you want to know how much you can get, look around on some of the shoe forums first to see if anyone has them for sale (issForums or niketalk will do). If you can't find info don't worry. Those forums have their own sub forums where you could post pictures and ask for their opinions on value.

Well I'm not a hip hopster or a woman so no I don't collect shoes. :D Maybe I'm just new to ebay but couldn't you start them on the high end and if they don't sell re-post them at a lower price? I'm not sure if they have a reg against that. Of course you could start them at 0 and see where the market takes them.
