anyone collect Zippos?

I'd like to see some collections.I only have one,but I just ordered two more.
I've had many through the years.They just kept getting lost or stolen.:o:mad:

I've always preferred them to Bics/torches/butane.
 
I own two myself, although I can't really be considered a collector by any standards. One's a daily user and the other was a gift. I've always wondered what the percentage of Zippo collectors actually smoke tobacco.
 
I have one, I love how Zippo's look and feel also how they stay lit. But since I don't carry a lighter it's a pain that the fuel evaporates after a short time. But I have a couple lighters that I like. I got this lighter that has like a 1.5 inch auto blade on it. I thought it was funny and for $7 it was a good deal in my eyes.
 
my primary lighter is a zippo (and i've got 4 of them), but i use a torch insert with it...all the better when toasting the end of a cigar...
 
I don't collect them, but I have a few. A couple of them are older. A new flint and some fuel and they were back in service :thumbup:

It doesn't hurt that they own Case knives :D

That's the one I have.Brass,has my monogram on it,but it's all scratched up from being in my pocket,being dropped,etc.Still works fine.
 
I also had a scratched up brass Zippo. It was engraved with "F*** Communism".

This is the only Zippo I have now. I engraved it 3 years ago and it's been a daily user since.

You should get a Black Ice one and do that to it. And how did you do the engraving did you have it done for you?
 
I did it very carefully with a Dremel and diamond bit.
 
i have one from the 40's or 50's it was my grandpas.. i think the years is right. need to double check. i have got a few from marlboro and etc from when i used to smoke. i quit a couple of years ago and gave most away except my grandpa's
 
Love Zippos. Much better, and cheaper in the long run, then other lighters. I used to collect them. I had about 7 at one point, but then I lost a couple.
 
I have several. Bought a brushed chrome one recently at the local convenience store that has the Canadian Task Force Afghanistan insignia which I thought was pretty cool.

There used to be an Asian antique store in Toronto that had a bowl filled with British, Australian and American military cigarette lighters. Maybe the lighters came from an old bar girl's collection? I bought a couple of the lighters. One is a Konwal lighter that has the insignia of the USS Charr. According to the internet this was a submarine that served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. The second lighter is a Zenith with a map of Vietnam on one side and Hue, Da-nang, Chu-lai, Viet-Nam 1967-1968 on the other side.
 
My brother collects them. He has accumulated quite a few. He even has the rotating display case that dealers usually keep them in. I'll see if i can get him to take a pic.
