i have a CS bushman and i would like to give the handle a better grip. that said, i want to wrap it in para cord. of course i will build a new sheath around it wen i am done though. i have tried a few times to cord wrap the handle but they never stay tight. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks all

what i do is get some of that cloth tape with some kind of adhesive in it...its called friction tape i found it with the electrical tape in my hardware store.

i wrap the handle in that and then wrap the paracord on top. i put superglue into the knot i use to tie it off.

if you want the paracord to be permenant, you can soak it in some epoxy and let that set up. then it will be thicker, grippier and just about as bombproof as the rest of the knife.

you can try soaking the paracord in water before wrapping it, its nylon so when it gets wet it stretches some. when it dries it will tighten up. just make sure that you don't get it wet again or else it can loosen up again.

it's really not hard. you just have to take your time, be patient, and expect to try it a couple times before you get it just right. i haven't wrapped a knife yet, but just for practice i wrapped a mini-maglite. took two tries, and i'm pretty satisfied with the result. just make sure you get the wrap as tight as possible.

when i wrapped it, i made sure that on one side i always crossed left over right, and on the other side right over left. that way, it stays symmetrical, and each new wrap seals the previous one. i guess it's kind of like a bunch of clove hitches. i wanted to keep a lanyard from the left-over paracord, so i started the wrap at the light's head with the middle of the line, rather than at one end.

hope that helps. :)

Is this the same thing as grip tape skatboarders use?
