Anyone cut themselves with a small sebenza?

Hey,

Just wondering, has anyone ever cut themselves with their small sebenza? Or am I the only one that's retarded enough to do so?

I just started carrying my sebenza instead of my mini-griptilian (for a change).

I was closing my knife the other day (just recently rebeveled and sharpened so sharp that it will literally drop cut through paper held vertically from gravity, finished to 1400 grit) when I was distracted and it barely touched my pinky. I guess what happened was a gentle push cut and I almost lost a chunk of flesh and half my fingerprint off my finger!

I couldn't believe it, blood was pouring out all over the place. I thought I needed stitches, but I kept my hand elevated with oressure on the cut and after about 15 mins it stopped.

You've probably heard the saying that a sharp knife is safer than a dull one? I'd have to disagree in this case. But, I still love the knife

Well... I cut myself many many times with different type of knives...

But IMHO it's not linked with the knife itself but with the way I used it.

I cut myself when :

- I was not concentrated enough on what I was doing
- I was using a knife for a different purpose than cutting - improper use
- I was playing with it and doing something else at the same time

Knife is a tool but a sharp one : it's dangerous when not used the proper way. The blade itself is not but I am dangerous when I misuse it.

Same thing with guns, cars, motorcycles, chain saws, wives...

BTW I never cut myself with a small Sebie... yet

You're right, I just wasn't paying attention and I wasn't used to it yet. Just surprised me as it was the first time I've ever cut myself with a knife accidentally.

The saying goes it is a dull knife that cuts a man. Here is the second part you never hear. It’s a sharp one that goes to the bone.

Have not cut my self with a small sebie but I also don’t own one. But I carry a nice scar from a Dick Almar knife’s the surgeon that gave me the stitches told me I clipped the artery in my thumb and cut the bone.
