Tis the season for shopping for friends and family, but sometimes you just have to sneak in something for yourself  I have wanted one of the BHK machetes since I first saw them several months ago, and I finally broke down and ordered one today. Can't wait to get it. It's okay, I won't tell Santa, feel free to post if you got a little Merry on yourself! (Wait, that doesn't sound quite right  but I'm a couple bottles in on some Anchor Christmas beer)

Since I keep missing them when they pop up on the Exchange, I asked Alan Davis to "whip" up one of his misery whip knives for me and set it aside for just after Christmas.

Well, it wasn't going to be a Christmas present to myself at first, but it's how it ended up. The bottom one turned up today in the mail. I can't wait to get out and use it.

I got myself a couple of pairs of army surplus cold-weather "trigger mittens" for when I'm mucking the barn and cutting hay for the horses with my hay knife. Raynaud's Syndrome runs in my family and while I wouldn't say I have a strong case of it I exhibit a fair number of the symptoms so it can be hard for me to keep my hands warm in the winter. The trigger mittens are the perfect solution. Warmer than gloves and more dexterity than normal mittens.

Are those Culberson's work? That looks massive! Bad Ass Choppers

Well, I ordered myself an American Kami Ti Spork. It will help me survive eating Mountain House dinners, opening up a beer, maintaining my MSR Whisperlite stove, or stabbing a Zombie...

But what I really want to get myself is one of these....

Yep. Bought myself a springfield XDm yesterday with a chunk of my Xmas bonus. Shoots good and it's a solid gun.

Yep, they're both made by Bruce. Got the top one last year, and got the bottom one just today. The bottom one is 14.25 inches for the blade, and is .28 inches thick. Can't wait to use it. :)

My Snow Peak gear is starting to pile up. Got a Trek 900 titanium cook set for myself this year, took it out and made some tea with it today.

Nice stuff!
I picked up a Kabar JAB Potbelly. It won't be in until next week, but thats OK. I used to have one, and sold it. I thought about what knife I missed after the last 2 years, that was the only one that came to mind (that I could afford to replace) so I bought it.
