The mini looks like a nice looking knife in a small package, with plenty of blade at almost 3 inches, plus a lock.... all qualities I like. I know they have only been around since 1997, but the shape of the knife and the long nail nick make it look like a much older design. I'm not very familiar with these and would like to hear some opinions from anyone that may have carried one for a few years as to how well they hold up. Also, it looks like it would be a nice small game size knife/fishing knife with the thin blade, so if anyone has used one for small game, just like to hear your opinions and feel free to show some pictures. Feel free to include full sized Copperlocks.
Thanks in advance.

I have one in a light jigged bone I carry from time to time. I like the slim design and sharp clip point blade for envelope work. Obviously the lock back is a plus, but a minus if you will need it for one hand opening work or with gloves on IMHO. As far as the fishing part I cant comment, all my fishing is in done in the ocean and the copperlock has no place there

Your post prompted me to sharpen up and carry this used one I picked up not long ago. The pattern is new to me, but it looks like a good design. Very thin and comfortable in the pocket.

It seems like a good design, but I haven't heard much of them. It almost seems like to me, a traditional version of a Spyderco delica of all things, minus the one hand opening and the pocket clip. They are both very thin and with the location of the lock, but then again it looks like a much older knife too with the long nail pull and the copperhead bolster. Like the looks of that yellow CV.

I carry mine occasionally. Not as often as others. They're nice knives, though.

I carry one often, really like the size/thinness. Bought it online sight unseen and expected dark red to be, well, dark red. As you can see, not-so-much. Thinking about dying it, but other than the petty color issue I like it.

I have a mini muskrat in that red, and it was kind of light and I was worried about it fading and turning more pink. Well, it actually seems to have gotten quite a bit darker rather than lighter the more I used it. I think some of the things that darkened the blade combined with sweat and dirty hands may have made it get somewhat darker.

As current Case Dark Red dye goes, yours is actually a very good example.

The other side is a little better. Not the deep cranberry color I was expecting. Had a Case years ago that was a beautiful cranberry. Oh well.

I had considered the larger copperlock, glad I went with the mini. Rides real well in my front pocket. Easy enough to open, not a problem since it's not a fightin' knife, right? Serves its purpose well.

Oh, I guess to stay on the topic here - I have one Mini Copperlock that I carried some when I first got it. Here it is pictured next to a sibling in the same handle family:

I love the blade shape and the features not normally found on Case knives - long pull and swedged blade. Reminds me of some of the GEC clip blades.

As I recall it was a nice slim pocket carry with an easy pull and a solid lockup. The only reason I don't carry it all the time is that since I acquired it early in my knife acquiring phase, I have come down with a bad case of "own-too-many-knives-itis" which is curable only by a massive purge (also called "estate sale").

I received a second one (in blue bone) as a gift from another forum member here, shown below with a couple of other knives for size and thickness comparison purposes:

I was not using that one, and I passed on the gift to a new young poster here who was just getting started in his knife collecting. He seems to be enjoying it from some of his later posts. If I still had it I'd send it along to you.

own-too-many-knives-itis - lol

I can see how easy that would be to "catch". Love that blue bone Case...

Given one away here, got a couple of others left, Redbone Old Pocket Worn (this is very dark red too) and an Amber Bone one which is so-so. Neither of these I use much, another one in stag that I bought here 2nd hand sees a lot of garden use when I visit the country place. At first I thought this stag rather hideous but it came into its own, it's fat with a bloat in the middle, this makes handling great as the main problem with the Mini Copperlock for me is that they usually have handles that are too thin for comfort. Not this stag one though! It was also smooth and whitish, a tea-bath greatly improved the looks. All these knives are solid lockup, no play, stand real work very well. Easy to open and close, good big Clip blade and a compact size.

The pattern certainly has a lot going for it if you find a handle you really like, I must say I don't care for the full size version, too lanky and awkward (thin again) the Mini is very much better as a credible EDC in my use.

I don't carry it everyday, but I have carried it a fair amount over the years. I really like mine, in fact I was just looking at adding another one today. It disappears in the pocket due to it's light weight and thin handles. Perfect for the watch pocket in your favorite pair of jeans. I wouldn't consider it a hard use knife so the thinness in the handles doesn't concern me.

I carry a Large more often than I carry a Mini because it fits my large hand better, but every single one of them gets its chance to go for a ride, eventually. :)
One of my favorite patterns - because of their consistently solid lock back design and seminally classic clip and wharncliffe blade profiles.

I really like the red stag, deskil. Way better than average figure on that one.

Thank You, Sir, for the complement ! That one was my first Copperlock and it took quite a while to find one that was acceptable, in red stag.

Here's my only full-sized one. Peacock Appaloosa bone. I've never carried this one. It's actually a pretty big knife.
