Anyone EDC a Mora Companion?

The Mora Companion is a great budget knife but seems stuck in a particular philosophy of use. I've taken them out in the woods on several occasions but I never considered EDC. A big part of that has been the included sheath. Between not going out much in 2020 and noticing a few places selling kydex sheaths for the Companion, I've started thinking about it.

Has anyone here ever used a Mora Companion as their EDC, with or without an aftermarket sheath?

Sounds like a cool idea, would like to hear how that worked out if they EDC it.

Where do you find the kydex sheaths? If I could get one for lefty carry, I just might have to add a Companion to the stable...

Can't EDC a fixed blade here - illegal. I have about 6-8 various Mora, love them especially the laminated ones. Carry one in toolbox in cars and in every other toolbox I have :-) Great knives and inexpensive.

I just ordered one from RK Custom Kydex. Once I get it and have a chance to use it, I'll post about it in this thread.

Often, by dropping it in a front pocket. Never for a whole day, but for a particular project of one ot two hours’ duration.

Not the companion but the Mora classic, for a while anyway. The handle slides in and out of pockets better or conceals better, depending on how you carry it. I stuck it in a vest pocket or used it as a neck knife one summer where I found myself up and down ladders a lot working on my house.

I think somebody does, or at least they used to.

I have a Mora #1 plus some old collection moras that came in a sheath designed to be hooked onto a button. Scandinavians used to hook their knives to an inner button of their jacket for daily carry.

Don't have a Companion, (Mora or otherwise :( ) but I do keep a venerable Mora Number 1 (red birch handle, no guard) in the tote/shopping bag of my primary rollator, for if I ever need a fixed blade. Does that count as "EDC"?

If it goes where you go and stays handy to your person, then absolutely. "EDC" or "everyday carry" is just a recent phrase for an old concept. While usually referring to pockets, belt attachments, etc.; it can also apply to packs, purses, rollators, wheelchairs, or whatever else that keeps an item within reach as you move through your day.
