I'm ready to pull the trigger on a small Sebenza, Micarta Inlay with polished blade... when I see a wood inlay version cheaper!

Sooooo that got me thinking, the wood looks wonderful, how does it hold up for EDC?

Most of the woods are stabilized and are a harder denser species of wood to begin with.

They will hold up flawlessly.

The wood does look good!

If you are wanting something more grippy I would still stick with the micarta, the wood is quite smooth and doesn't offer as much grip.

Micarta +:
(1) grips better
(2) over all a better worker
(3) never need to worry about stabilization.

Wood +:
(1) no two wood inlays look identical.
(2) wood inlays (as an EDC) build character over time, like hats or blue jeans.
(3) variety in species choice.

Overall: who cares, it's another sebenza. It's not like there's a loosing option.

Thanks to all of you, I purchased this one...

Congrats! Great choice, now let's see how long it takes before you end up with a wood inlay as well.

I carry a small clip-less 21 with Snakewood inlays at least 3 days a week, but that's mainly in slacks to the office. I think if I were using the knife more as a tool instead of a nice package opener, micarta would probably be my preference.

But around the office though, this is just about everything I want in a knife.
