either the pentagon or spec, im thinking of picking up one of these monsters for edc. im currently carrying a 3.5" and am wondering how this 5 incher will carry. are the handles real thick?

When I'm on vacations from work I will carry my PE-II in a custom leather sheath. I've used it at church BBQ's quite a few times. I'd love to have a Spec-Elite II to compliment it. IMO A knife that big needs a sheath. I carry all of my larger folders in sheaths. Tends to not be noticed and doesn't feel like they will pull my pants down.

i looked at one today and its much too large for my edc, i did like the smoothness of the arc lock and am gonna be picking up a spec I very soon.

Wow, I can't imagine carrying that. 5" blade, that's huge for an EDC. I don't think the knife will be overly thick, just long. Personally, I currently carry a Night Vision (Basically a G-10 version of the X-Ray Vision), with a 3 3/4" blade. The arc-lock on it is great.

yeah i didn't realize that sucker was so big, when i first saw it i was like was that the knife i was gonna buy? its a good thing i didnt impulse buy one online. the arc lock is the smoothest ive ever handled though, much quicker/smoother than benchmades axis locks and im a huge BM fan. it left such an impression on me that i have to have one, probably the spec I 4 incher.

I didnt want to hear that. I have my first BM folder on it's way. The 610 rukus.

2bit, Don't worry you'll really like the Rukus alot. I have the SOG Spec elite BM Rukus and really like them both. Like 97guns say's the Arc lock IMO is smoother than the Axis lock but not better. Each has it's own positive traits.

Enjoy,

Paul

you wont be dissapointed in the axis lock in any way and i myself would not hessitate to buy another one. its just that i cant get the buttery glass smoothness of sogs arc lock out of my head.

I carry an Spec E I for EDC and I love it! 4" is just about perfect for maximum cutting and easy of use and concealility, and the action is just so SMOOTH and quick. Great Knife IMO

I have a Spec Elite I and also cannot believe how smooth the thing is. Unfortunately I can't legally carry it here in Colorado. We have a 3.5" limit before it's considered a concealed knife. Sucks because it's absolutely the best knife I've ever had.

I have a Pentagon Elite I and carry it everywhere i love it. great size i think the bigger one shouldnt be too bad i dont think.
