Started carrying this knife again after few years of carrying mostly other brands. This knife was used and abused many times, and still locks up with a click, and this style of blade and cuts like crazy. This would I imagine be a devastating knife to use in self defense(if you know how to use it).Cold steel is my favorite knife company now, and will be buying more knives for sure.

I carry my Old School Vaquero Grande when I hike with a daypack. I put it in a back pocket and it stays out of the way, yet is easily accessible due to its length. It has been an improvised machete and walking stick maker for a long time. I think I have had the thing 18 or 19 years, and it still locks up great every time that huge blade swings out. During my home remodel, it was my favorite tool for cutting insulation bats to the right size; the curves and serrations made it cut like a folding saw. Sometimes I think about getting a plain edge version, but I think the old handle design is much more elegant and aesthetically pleasing than the new style.

These older style voyagers and vaqueros are so much easier to carry.Would love to see Cold Steel produce some of these models again.
