Anyone EDCing a Mini Mojo?

Yep, got it in my pocket right now. It's a nifty little folder. The SpeedSafe is lightning-quick on it, but you have to get the hang of the safety. For such a small handle, it fits my hand well. If you have very large hands you might not like the fit. The blade itself is very capable for being so small; the shape really lends itself to efficient cutting.

The lock is pretty darn good. I don't know how effective it would be on a larger knife, but on a smaller one like the MM it's very secure. No bladeplay at all, and release is easy to perform with one hand.

It is 440A, but I've not used it heavily enough to dull the edge yet... just envelopes, cardboard, etc. I'd say it's a fun little knife.

I've used the mini mojo and actually quite enjoyed it. I did have a couple of concerns though.

440A steel is just not enough for me, at that price...I mean, what you lose in steel you make up for in assisted opening, if that's important to you (and it probably is). I wish they'd make a D2 or at least 440C mini mojo--if they did, I'd be EDCing it right now.

Also, it's been awhile since I've used one, but if I recall correctly, the spring in the lock mechanism is exposed (it's in the blade). This probably isn't a concern, but I guess in my mind it's a little more vulnerable out in the open. On the plus side, it might be easier to keep clean that way.

Other than these minor things, for 65 dollars, you'd be hard pressed to find a better assisted opener in my opinion. I like that it's less than three inches--I mean, a three inch blade you can often get away with in public, but it's more challenging when what you're holding is considered by the unknowing a 3+ inch switchblade. So for assisted opening EDC, I think 2-2.5 inch is most appropriate, which, if I recall correctly, the mini mojo meets.

Artfully Martial, I'm in complete agreement with you on the steel. If it was at least 440C I'd no longer have to say to my friends, "Hey, check out my new one... it's cool, but the steel is kinda blah...."

But again: A darn fun little knife. :D

Oh, and to confirm: according to my measurement, the length of the sharpened edge is almost exactly 2.5".
