Title says it all.... Hello, my name is Mongo and I am addicted to Minesweeper. It is like mental crack to me, I can play it for hours. I see it when I am trying to fall asleep!

Not to brag, but I doubt anyone can beat my best score on the expert level.... 56 seconds! I will often make custom games with up to 200 mines, haven't won one of those yet. Have completed a 175 though.

Anyone else? or do I gotta go check myself in somewhere?

I have gone through periodic Minesweeper addictions. Tetris was another that I wasted a lot of brain cells on.

I only play Minesweeper once in a while. I am a sucker for Hearts and Pinball that are included with Windows XP. On the PDA I can't take my eyes off of Jawbreaker.

I used to play it at work all the time. Best time on the beginner level was 10 seconds.

I now use a laptop with no mouse, and I can't get the fast times anymore.

56 seconds! Even Spock couldn't do that good! I've play a bunch, but I think my best was 2-3 minutes on expert.

What I did for fun (after racing the clock got boring) I'd make the playfield as big as possible, then start at 10 mines. Solve. Add 1 mine. Solve. Add 1 mine. Solve...

Can't remember how far along I got, I'm thinking I broke 100, maybe 150 (for some reason 167 pops into my mind)

Fun game, the minesweeper. Your score is tough ... really tough.
My best scores are 13s for beginner, about 1 minute for intermediate and over 6 (six) minutes for expert. :footinmou
I don't play much though ...

Beginner - 1 (pure, unadulterated luck; the board cleared on the first click)
Intermediate - 40
Expert - 156

I went through an "I love Minesweeper" phase right after I learned a few of the common patterns.

I used to play minesweeper compulsively too. then I found out that, in an earlier version, you could type xyzzy shift-enter shift-enter enter and the upper right pixel on your screen would be black when you pointed at a mine and white when you pointed at a clear space. It kind of ruined it for me.

There's also a cheat on most window versions that'll stop the timer. A player still has to beat the level, but he can record a deceptively low result.

AND, just for the record.... I did not know this.
