Just happened to be in Orlando, FL in time for their rare "Inventory available for immediate purchase" event Monday. The showroom opened at 7:00 AM, and I got there about 10 minutes late(thanks to a missed exit), to find about 30 people in line in front of me. Enough people in the showroom, that I could barely see any of the 90-100 knives they had available. I took a number and sat down and waited my turn. Wasn't much use in looking at the display case, only to have somebody else buy the knife I had my eyes on anyway, so I just waited. Waited about an hour, and finally got to the counter, where I saw about 12 knives left. Amazingly, I found 2 really nice knives left that caught my eye. I ended up with a model 23 Gamemaster and a model 8 Bird & Trout, both with nice stag handles.

Of course, the Wife is going to probably divorce me when she sees the credit card bill(she had told me I could buy one), but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. :)

Danbo, first off I apologize for Posting the info. request about the "Dula" knife on multiple forums. I didn't know if everyone read each forum and wanted it read by anyone that could help. As for the Randall sale - I wasn't there but was told by Randall I could telephone at precisely 7:00 a.m. and place an order. I started dialing at 1 minute till 7:00 and got a busy signal and hit the re-dial button just as soon as I got the busy tone. This took ony 3-4 seconds as I timed it. I repeated this procedure for over 2 hours - calling ever 3-4 seconds and never got through. After 2 hours the phone was answered and I was told that all knives were sold. Apparently people aroind the country must use speed dialers as on some of the auctions to get through. I still want some Randalls. If for any reason you wish to sell the knives you bought let me know I can be reached by phone at 434-929-2520
or e-mail at mes228@msn.com Please include a subject line if you e-mail as I get so much spam I've deleted wanted mail by error. Best regards and have a great day.

I went back into the showroom about a 4:30, a little before they closed for the day, and there were still 5 knives in the display case available. I was tempted to buy another one, but decided that my marriage was worth more to me. ;) :)

I had a similiar expierence at the BLADE show this year. Usually Tom Clinton unveils all his new Randalls (at Shop Prices) on Saturday. In the past I have ALWAYS been able to get one and sometimes two (which is the limit), this year was different. I strolled over to the table at 1:30 and it was already packed three deep.

I waited patiently until 10 minutes after 2:00 and then the knives were laid out. In the past Tom has brought as many three or four dozen new knives, but this year there were very few (probably about 25) and of those approx 9 of them had HUGE Ivory handles (which I do not collect for personal reasons). So needless to say, after standing there for more than an hour pressed against a bunch of Sweaty guys (several of them official and unofficial Randall Dealers looking to turn a quick buck) I was not as lucky as Danbo and I came away empty handed. Not Tom's fault, just the nature of Randall popularity these days. However, I won't make the same mistake next year.
