Anyone else craving a waved stretch?

I threw two tiny green zip ties on my zdp-189 stretch, and I'm just loving it. There's just a simple practically of putting your hand in for your knife, and coming out with an opened knife! I wish they offered more of their models with the wave, but I can understand that it's probably not financially viable.

I can picture it now; a different steel (would love M4, anything would do) paired with either orange, earth brown scales.

I think the blade shape would lend well to a wave. So what are your opinions? Any other knives you'd like to see waved or do you not care for that feature?

I think waves are a cool, "hey! check this out" feature, but I don't really like them on my edc knives, I think they get in the way.. I do see their purpose on self defense knives, but not a stretch.

Well you can take the knife out with opening it. It's like a feature that's there only when you want it.

Not for me. One of the reasons I've moved away from thumb studs is because sometimes they cause my knife to open upon pulling it from my pocket. So the wave feature is a no-go for me.

So this is my first post, in an old thread, I know. I've been building my relationship with Spyderco's products for nearly 20 years now, and I love them. This topic seemed like as good as any to start with.

Here's a sharpie mock up of what I've been seriously considering doing with my old VG10 Stretch:

I got my first Stretch 3 years ago, and the addiction has officially set in as I just acquired my third, this one in Super Blue, this week. Since I first held one I've felt that this knife needs the Wave feature built in. The natural contours of the blade lend themselves well, and there is really not much material to be removed. It looks like something in the neighborhood of an 1/8 - 3/16" hole drilled along with some minor cutting, followed by some careful file work could yield a very effective one handed EDC blade with the added benefit of a wave feature.
