If you haven't heard, Portland Oregon is getting a brand new knife company called Burnside Knives. I'm super stoked for another brand coming in the same area that I live. Anyone else excited?

(Here's their Instagram, you can see some of the models: https://instagram.com/burnsideknives)

First I've heard about them, thanks for pointing them out. Can't say I'm a fan of that recurve design, but that clip point flipper is pretty slick. If the price is right I'll probably pick one up.

I like the double grind on the cabrillo, but I'm super excited for the flipper coming out later in spring and again in Fall. Flippers are my absolute favorite

I'm of the opposite opinion on the cabrillo... Compound grind AND a recurve? It looks neat, but it looks like a total nightmare to sharpen. On top of that it's only AUS-8 for over $100, a definite pass for me.

The blade shape on the Strauss is pretty functional though, sort of like a Microtech clip point meets the Kwaiken. D2 and a Ti framelock seals the deal for me, as long as they keep the price under $250. Any higher than that is tough to swallow for a new company with no track record.

Grind... Flip... Hehe...

I'm an ex skater from the Portland area. Grew up near where Mark "Red" Scott lived, and spent a lot of time at the Burnside park. The park itself is named after the street & bridge (under which it was built). The name alone brings a wistful smile to me.

I like their second offering that's been all over their Instagram but I can't find out anything about their company. Everything available on them is just press release BS.

I wonder if the manufacture their own knives in house and onsite? Do they outsource domestically or internationally ?

Burnside website says they are made in Taiwan.

$180 for D2 Titanium Flipper? Actually sounds pretty reasonable.
Then again, no lefty means no sale for me.
