Anyone else get in on the Dwyer BBNN?

I saw these pop up on Knifecenter and had to grab one. I'm not much for Chinese made knives these days, but this was too unique of a drop to pass up.

I think I can post a link since Knifecenter has an account here. The mods can slap me on the wrist if I'm wrong. There might be a few left in stock.

The hard pass for me is that the 3.62” blade only has a 2.95” cutting edge. I don’t support that kind of design, and I’ve seen it a few times from other companies, too. That waste of cutting edge space for a finger choil and a separate sharpening choil, looks terrible, to me, as well.

Basically Japanese D2; somewhat common in Japanese kitchen cutlery.

Edit - images show blades stamped SLD Magic, though, which is a different Hitachi steel.
It's a bit tougher with a bit less edge retention than D2. They use it in a san mai with a more corrosion resistant steel. That's why it has a hammon look. That's just the core. I have a couple of knives that use it. It's pretty good stuff.
