I have a feeling I'm not the only one who can't stand any kind on writing or bizzare design stamped on the blade of a knife.
I'm not talking about a makers mark or a decorative Damascus pattern, I'm talking about promotional ad copy.
There have been several times when I have seen a balanced knife design with a nicely patterned blade only to turn it over and read "Alligator Skinner" or"Super Krypto SteelPlus 2001" or some other such nonsense stamped in huge letters across the blade. It drives me crazy.
I was so happy to find a Spyderco Military that didn't say "Military" across the beautiful blade I nearly fainted before I could draw my wallet. I've since found out this was some sort of pre-production knife or just a plain mistake that slipped out the door. I love it anyway.
I wish knife makers would give buyers an option. I would even pay a bit MORE for less work if I could get some designs without any blade stamping. Manufacturers, are you listening?
