Anyone else have a CRKT m16 EDC?

I've got the m16-10kz EDC blade, tanto point, black coating.

If you have this knife, I have a couple questions for you:

1. If you open the blade, and look at the blade with the spine facing you, is the white plastic spacer on the left, or the right of the blade?

2. When the knife is closed, can you move the blade back and forth in between the handles?

3. Is the pivot screw lose (able to be finger tightened/loosened) or is it really tight?

4. When the liner lock engages, does it hit the tang of the knife fully, or is it off centered/higher than the tang?

Trying to figure out if I got a bum knife.

Thanks!

i have the M16-13Z, slight different knife but my white washer is on the LEFT, and my liner-lock engages very much central on the tang, held in place by the AUTOLAWKS feature!!! no blade play and very firm pivot screw and silky smooth opening!!!
maybe a bum knife

White plastic spacer on the left

I can move the blade in the closed position.

That depends - pivots are inconsistent. If it's loose and you have blade play in the locked position, then tighten it. Mine seems tight enough, but not overly tight so that the blade won't deploy when the flipper is pushed - it does have a really strong detent.

Got it on sale for 10$, so I wasn't expecting it to be like my other pieces, but it fulfills the role for an expendable piece.

I have blade play when open, the liner lock engages above the knife tang, and the pivot screw is lose enough I can thumb tighten it. If I tighten it with a screw driver so I cant work it with my thumb, the blade is too stiff to open properly.

I looked at an m16 ER knife at REI today, and it feels completely different.

For a while the blade on mine was stiff too, and the real-strong detent made the flipper practically useless. Decided to break it in by two-handed opening it partially, then flicking it hard to get it open.

With my pivot screw thumb tightened, the action is so tight that I can't open the knife using either flipper.

Is this a bum knife? Or are the EDC blades just manufactured to lower standards?

Pivots are fickle. Sometimes the adjustment needed is really, really slight. i.e. you won't even notice the pivot turning. It's mostly trial and error.

My Benchmade Rukus, if the pivot is slightly loose, I get noticeable blade play. If slightly overtightened, it'll need two hands to open.

The bigger concern is that the liner lock, sits slightly above the blade when engaged. Basically, only part of the liner lock service is touching the tang of the blade.

Is this bad? Or does this mean my liner lock is overly strong?
