Just got finished cleaning/skinning some animals with mine.
I just can not get over how much I love this knife.

30+ years old and it is still going strong!

PERFECTLY fits my hand, fantastic blade, decent sheath . . .

Pete Gerber knocked it out of the park with this one!:thumbup::thumbup:

Sorry about the non-exciting picture. It's the only one I could dig up on it.

Beautiful knife! Great series of blades. Do you know if this was one of the M2 series blades or was it one of the standard 440C blades they produced around that time? Also, is it for sale ;).

M2? Not sure.

And no it is not, and never will be for sale.

Strobengh,

I have one also and it is also one of my favorites. I especially like the fit and finish on this series. Mine is 440C and I don't think they made the presentation series in any other steel. I am partial to drop point hunters and the 400S with the finger grooves just works great. It's good to know that I am not the only one who really likes this model.

It would be a great boost to Gerbers reputation to come back with a modern line of their older designs, even if only for a limited run. With the newer steels, and real leather sheaths, it could only be good.

Drop point with a finger choil, just like a SnG. No doubt the best utility pattern out there.

Go to Cabelas.com and look for the Gerber Longbow.
