I've spent the last 2 hours lookin at customs on the net.
Blade Show spoiled me.
Not many production blades 'speak' to me like they used to.So what do i do?
Customs

Don't have many,but I'm workin on it.

Production knives (well, most of em) dont do it for me anymore.
There are a few examples that really grab my attention.. Rekat SIFU, upcoming Fisk/Camillus collaboration, etc.

I got to get a high paying job.

I can identify. I'm not very interested inprodcution knives outside of William Henry or Hara House. I'm constantly selling production pieces to get more customs. I love customs, and not just tacticals. Traditional folders have also been calling me.

What problem?

I never would have become a knife knut at all except for the existance of the custom knives and knifemakers. I read Blade magazine and Knives Illustrated for over six years before I bought my first custom knife. During that time I was happy with my Gerber LST.

The best thing you can do right now Maurice is to Look, Listen, and Read. Doing your homework can be as much fun as actually buying knives. I scan the major internet dealers at least once every couple of weeks just to see what's out there.

When you are ready to start paying for knives, you will know what you want, and what it is worth.

para,im already paying for knives.dont think so? ok,so the 800 bucks or so i spent at balde werent mine? hmmm..

how many other 17 year olds work their ass off to suppost a hobby, instead of running to mom and dad for the cash?

Guess I'm just getting into it a little faster than others.Problem?

I could be out with a bunch of punks, smoking crack.

and im not done yet.

one of the knives i bought at the show was a carson model 4. i worked in a fast food resturant for more than a month to afford that knife.

my 400 bucks vs. another guys 400 bucks...which is more valuable? which seems more valuable to me,at least?

some guys work for a day for that kind of money. some work for a couple of days.some work their ass off, like i did, for that kind of money.

am i not paying for knives?

Maurice,
You are 17!!!???!!! I only met you briefly at the show but I would have never guessed!
Man, I wish I had known HALF as much about knives at 17 as you do . . . then again, I might have never bought a house either!

You da man in my book!

I think I made Mo mad. Not quite sure why.

Mo, I worked during high school and college, paying my own way. I am so happy for you that you have $800 to spend that you do not need to feed, clothe, or educate yourself.

Please excuse me for trying to give a little helpful advice to a young guy complaining about not having any money and developing expensive tastes. I did not realize you are actually Ted Turner 2. My mistake. Excuse me for speaking.
