Anyone else here done VTAC "mods"?

I have been working with my new VTAC, so that I can get the best utility out of it. One area I've been trying to improve is the handle grip, since the handle can be slick even with the raised grooves in it.

Now, this is a work in progress...but what I've done is gone down to the local sporting goods store, and picked up a couple of different types of "grip tape" used for tennis rackets.. My current trial is with Wilson's "H20VERGRIP". This grip tape is designed for use with "wet hands", and goes on easily. I can't tell you all how much this improves the feel of my VTAC!

Oh; and it's 3 tapes in a package for $4.99, so it's no biggie if you have to replace it after a while.

This may have a negative effect on throwing the VTAC; but if I have to chop through something like a door or wall, this stuff will make "controlling your tool" a lot easier! (sorry, couldn't help that one!)

So, has anyone else been working with anything along these lines?

Thanks,

Steve

A thin strip of skateboard tape on each side of the handle works well. It also works well on the back strap of handgun grips, I use it in PPC shooting.

I have been trying to figure out some type of add on that would turn mine into a hammer pole. I will only accept something that looks factory so it's going to have to be a well thought out modification. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard for ATC to offer a hammer pole option. From some of the threads and posts that Iv'e read on here I know they would have no problem selling them.

Rainier Scout is a hammer poll me thinks good looking tool to:D
