Guys, Lately i've been toting a simple Gerber LST, the original 3.5" model. It ain't much, but I just love this thing. The thing is, it's my only Gerber and (aside from those old brass and wood beauties I used to drool over in the sporting goods store as a kid), I have zero interest in other Gerber offerings. Usually I'm a slipjoint Victorinox, Case, Buck kind of guy.

Anyone else have a go-to knife where it's the only one you like from that company?

I have said for years that I feel Benchmade makes quality knives they have nothing I really like or would keep and carry. Well that all changed when I purchased a NIB 635 Mini Skirmish two weeks back. I was planning on picking up a lg Sebenza but now I'm in no hurry. Just an excellent framelock folder.;)

Spyderco Manix 2 is one of my favorite go to knives. I even used it to chop small branches the other weekend while in the bush. I think it is a great knife but I don't own any other Spyderco knives nor am I considering buying one. I do like my Manix 2 though.

Same here. The Manix 2 is the only knife that has spoken to me out of the Spyderco line.

Hearing a lot of bad press about recent Gerbers, I still took a chance on the US-made Freeman fixed blade variant - with S30V blade and stag scales - <$90! Really nice. Keeper! No. 1 son gave me a Gerber LMF II a couple of Pappy's Days ago - a $59 closeout from an LEO shop - overpriced, if you ask me. I keep it only for it's sentimental value. It's my ony serrated knife. Not a ha;;mark of good QC. Hit or miss. I count the Freeman as my 'one' Gerber. I save my sheckles for Benchmade, Boker, Buck, Kershaw, and Spyderco - known quantities.

Does it count if you have a backup of your 'one' from a maker? I liked the first Spyderco S30V Native my wife bought me from WallyWorld a few years back so much, when I heard they were breaking ties with WallyWorld, I went to buy the last one at my local store... it was gone. My wife had bought it - gave it to me for my birthday! I also have the Spydie Sharpmaker - but that shouldn't count.

I've owned 3 Gerber fixed blades and handled many of their folders, but the only Gerber I actually like is the Big Rock camp knife. Furthermore, of the 3 gerber sheath knives I've bought, it's the only one I still own.

It's just about the only current-production Gerber knife I'm interested in.

I'm that way with SOG. I only have one knife from their line -- a SOG Stingray (1st Version).

While it is the only knife I have from the SOG line, I do have to admit that I have four of them -- all purchased in 1986.

Spyderco Paramilitary.

Sorry spyderco. The rest of your stuff just doesn't do it for me. The Para is ridiculously light, opens quickly, and has a compression lock.

Cold Steel.
The 3" Hai Hocho is a beaut. I don't care for most of their stuff.
No offense intended... it just don't do it for me.

For folders I like Spyderco because I can open them easier than other knives due to the spyderhole. THey also have good material and alot of model options. I usually stick with Kabar or SOG for fixed blades due to my familiarity with them. I am not closed to any other company as long as the knife fits me well. I cant say that there is only one model I like but there are definetly some I dont like.

I'm in full agreement on the Gerber LST. Been carrying one daily now for two and a half years. Great little knife, and it's the only Gerber that does it for me.

becker/ka-bar - only one i like is the bk-2. i wish i didn't buy the bk9, becker necker, and short tanto.

I'm not really into anything much from Gerber, but their Steadfast fb looks kind of awesome to me for some reason. I'm not sure if i'd use it as a carry blade if I bought it, but I definitely want to play with one....:)

Anyone say Sebenza yet? :)

Or Military? :) :)

The Military is the only one that has spoken to me from the spyderco line, but I haven't bought it yet:o I just find it hard to justify buying another 4" blades tactical style knife when I already have a BM 710. I know that sooner or later I will buy it, because not only is it the only one that is calling to me from the spydie line, it is the only one that is calling to me period.:D
