I've been thinking about a Tidioute/Northfield Rail Splitter with nice Ebony covers. Or how about one in canvas Micarta? What about some of that gnarly Northfield stag? Bone anyone? Just wondering if anyone else would be excited to see these become a reality? Let's hear your thoughts, and of course feel free to share any Rail Splitter pics that you already have!

I would love to see them so this pattern. Hopefully it's JUST pocketable...

Yup, would be awesome. I find GECs proportions to be my benchmark. Would be neat to get o e with there take on it

I've often thought that a GEC Railsplitter would be the bomb. I certainly would buy one. Or six. :D

Here's a rather horrible and older pic of my Railsplitters. A couple have found new homes and I've acquired a few that aren't pictured here.

There are a couple variations of the surveyor/railsplitter/swell center canoe pattern. The railsplitters from Queen and Colt are very close to the old knives made by Valley Forge and others. Some of the older knives like these from Miller Bros/Maher & Grosh and Robeson (among others) are a bit longer (4" closed) and skinnier. I'd like to see GEC rebirth the slender version of the pattern since nobody else is making them.

Those are beautiful knives that I'd love to see (re)produced-- especially the top knife pictured-- but there's just something about the hunk-a-chunk presentation of Railsplitter's railsplitters (heh) that appeal to me even more. :)

I have a walnut one as well but no photo-tomorrow in the sun.
However nothing but a ramshorn railsplitter will suffice now that Ive seen one. The new grail? why yes ,yes I do believe so.

Hey Rick -I just clicked on your railsplitter pic to see if could see the brand of the ramshorn more clearly and I went straight to your photobucket and I could scroll through your pics. I didn't think that would happen. sorry bout that. Something for us all to be aware of.
Anyway can you tell the brand of that one because I can't quite make it out -is it a RAT?
cheers.

Thanks for the heads up, meako. Much appreciated.

That's some nice blue coloring on your Railsplitter. I have one of the blue ones too but I don't have access to those pics right now.

Yes, the Rams Horn Railsplitter is an Ontario RAT. Made by Queen, of course, and D2 steel.

No worries I should probably check my own photobook settings -who knew?
Anyway on to more tasty matters.
The Walnut ,The Bluebone and The Mammoth -who said GEC didnt make a railsplitter?
Well its close-the #79 Workhorse -and thats the secondary blade the main is a spearpoint and it has 3 backsprings.

I've never had a railsplitter, but I like their looks. I like the looks and handling of any swelling center, really. Huntnandfishin, one of our members, has me intrigued by the #76 Outlaw, and if it were comparable in size to that knife (especially with an acorn shield) I'd be all about it.

I'd love to see that. I prefer the big honkin' 4 blade versions and would love to to see the GEC version.

Thanks, as I was wondering the same thing. When I saw the ram's horn, I immediately thought "Queen", but didn't recognize the shield.

Nice pic of a great collection of knives. I don't currently have a railsplitter, but have always liked the "chunk factor" and can only imagine how they would feel in hand. A GEC offering would be sweet!
