Anyone else not into metal scales or framelock?

I've gone through a handful of knives now and as it relates to folders primarily, I'm not a fan of metal scales whether it be titanium or other. And I'm finding that I do not prefer the frame lock.

Anyone else not a fan?

I'm liking the G10 texture more so than metal frames, just seems more secure, as you will not always know the conditions you may need to bring a folder into use, and G10 just has a bit more tactile feedback so yep, I agree on that.
G2

I'm the exact same....when it comes right down to it, I prefer G10 scales with steel liners and liner locks on my folding knives..... cost me several thousand dollars to figure that out =o(

weirdly enough, I also tend to prefer the feel of Chinese G10 with the smoother texture than I do other forms of G10 .....

Titanium does have a little "something" extra that I like, but I am getting tired of framelocks, especially the flippers. My favorite locking mechanism is the Axis lock, but unfortunately, that's very hard to find in titanium, unless you get aftermarket scales.

I tend to find plain titanium presentation scales boring. I much prefer smooth polished Micarta or G10. It's lighter, feels nicer in the hand, and looks a lot better, in my opinion. I don't mind framelocks but wish more custom makers would try out liner locks.

I tend to carry (& collect) slipjoints. I like really nice wood scales,
They're pretty, durable, and generally light in weight.

For locking knives, I prefer lockbacks along with Axis and ArcLock because they
tend to result in slimmer knives than the other types. (And I do like a slim carry.)
But linerlocks and framelocks are fine with me as long as I like the knife.

I do own and enjoy a 940, however, FRN and a back lock is all I really need to be happy. I don't currently own any frame lock knives, nor are there any in my future. :)

I've nothing against frame locks, but do not like metal handles.
Been threatening to attach some type of veneer (wood, micarta, leather, etc) to the outsides.

Different strokes for different folks. I, personally, am very fond of titanium handles however I can't say the same for stainless steel and aluminum handles. I am fond of frame locks as well however I dislike flippers... I'm sure I am in the minority on flippers

Metal scales are a turnoff for me. To this point, I only own a stainless steel Endura (fully serrated). Not buying another. Pretty much won't consider the knife if it has metal scales. That's any folder regardless of the brand.

I like framelocks. Added..... I don't own a frame lock knife come to think of it. I dislike liner locks, but I can adjust to using one, hence I suspect I would feel the same way about a frame lock.

I like framelocks.

Lol, I love it. That's exactly how I feel about frame-locks, flippers and black handles. Not even considered, lol.

Generally speaking I do not like metal scales. I find that they tend to be slippery at times when dry, and even more so when wet, in my experience. Some knives with metal scales seem to me to be almost impossible to hold on to (original Kershaw Cryo for example, maybe that's why they introduced a G10 model?), but maybe my hands - or my brain - are at fault? Either way, I don't seem to have the same issue with other scale materials.

I have nothing against frame locks. Good solid liner locks, AXIS locks, lock backs, Tri-ad locks all work for me, too.

I like Ti scales, I like inlay scales, I like micarta, CF and G10 scales, linerlocks and framelocks and slip joints(though I haven't carried them as often recently). They all have their place. It's the total package that makes it or breaks it for me.

I've found that I also am not a fan of frame locks, for their feel, but also I live the symmetry of liner locks/other type's. The bare metal of frame locks, giving an immediate "non-display" side I dislike.

Hate framelocks, hate metal scales and I think titanium on a knife is a waste of money. I'm willing to make exceptions if the knife really speaks to me but yeah, you're not alone.

I fall into the same category. I dislike frame locks. I do believe that being left handed has alot to do with it. But also it changes the feel of te knife when I'm using it. My hands are usually too dry to handle metal dcales too.

I appreciate the zen simplicity of an all-metal frame lock, but metal handles don't work as well for me as other materials do. Metal is typically heavier, slicker, and more thermally conductive than nonmetallic alternatives.
