Anyone Else Prefer Flap Holsters?

I don't concealed carry; I carry when on trail rides, hiking, and when shooting at the berm in the back pasture. When I do, I prefer a flap holster for security when mounted, protection from the elements, looks, and discretion (folks on the trail may see the holster, recognize it, but feel less offended at not having to see the handle/trigger guard). Pretty much in that order.

Anyone else use them, like them, prefer them? What's your flap holster gear look like?

Zieg, nice rigs! I especially like the old swivel holster.

I don't have my .45 or the issue holster any more, but on a related note, I like the old-style Buck knife sheath. The knife sits deep and the flap keeps the knife secure.

I also use lanyards for both these. Can't stand the thought of losing something from the saddle or in the river while fishing.
