With all the excitement about ZT and other hot brands lately, I've been giving them all a good look. But the main thing I see are really "deep" or tall dimensions when folded. Having a couple of Spydercos, I know that knives that are half as wide as they are tall when folded just don't do it for me.
It doesn't appear to be a flipper thing. My Twitch II and Skyline are overall narrow knives. The main thing that seems to produce these knives that are fat in the pocket are hump backed handles mated to down curving blades.
Is this just fashion, or is there a genuine benefit to a very curved design that makes the relatively large folded dimensions more worthwhile than a knife with and straighter blade and handle that folds small?
