Reprofiling their Rat on a Sharpmaker?
I've tried the mousepad / sandpaper tricks. Several different pads with several different grit combinations. Never could get it shaving sharp and back to factory edge. The edges looked nice to the bare eye
but nothing after trying to cut paper and cardboard. Just my HR , waiting to see how it works for before committing a 'Coot and tramp to the reprofile. Any hints or comments to help keep the convex factory edge or just go ahead and Sharpmake it so it can easier be repeated in the future?

thanks

I just used the Sharpmaker on a CT Thursday and it was absolutely hair poppin' in no time at all. It didn't really need any reprofiling, I just had to knock the shoulder off a bit. Or you could cheat and just roll the edge into the stone a little, that way you don't have to remove as much metal.

Just a thought.

Let us know what you decide
