Anyone else tired of these old songs critical of Camillus knives? "They don't have their own factory anymore." "Their products are not made in the U. S. anymore." Probably true, but neither does Apple Computer and I hear they make some knockout products.

I have used a Camillus Carnivore for over a year now and I am very happy with it. It is so versatile I'm not always sure what to call it. It's a machete, and it's a long camping knife. If you are trailblazing through the woods, this is what you need. It whacks and chops through brush and trees. If you are only going to carry two knives camping, this should be one of them. It smashes, pries, digs, and cuts with ease. And on top of that, it's a terrific value. How much did you overpay for a different brand?

Welcome to Bladeforums.

In the future, when you have something to say, please do so once, in one forum, not spammed around the website. I have consolidated your posts here.

I don't mean to point fingers, but you post reads a lot like spam/trolling. Please, don't tell us about this eighth wonder of the world that we can all have for an unbelievable price, show us. Introduce yourself, show us how you use it, post some pictures of it in action, tell us what you like about it, what you don't like about it, etc.

Camillus doesn't exist, as far as I am concerned.

A different company bought the naming rights, and slaps the name on all sorts of crap.

Knock yourself out with your Carnivore. As long as you like it, that's all that really matters...

As for me, I'd gladly overpay for a different brand. Camillus Cutlery officially ceased to exist on February 28, 2007. What you have is an Acme United product, who bought the rights to the Camillus name.

Anyway, I'm sure you will enjoy your Acme knife until it fails catastrophically at the worst possible moment (very much llike the Acme products Wile E. Coyote uses to try and catch the Roadrunner in the cartoons). :D

I can't make any blanket statements concerning Camillus Knives. I can speak of a 3.5 inch Camillus Titanium that I own. I have had the knife for a few years. During this time there hasn't been any what I would refer to as hard duty. It has a VG-10 Tanto blade that is centered, and deploys smoothly. The handle is G-10 and fits my XL hands comfortably. The jimping is not too aggressive, and is in all the right places. It came with a small lanyard hole, and at a very reasonable price. my only complaint is the small lanyard hole. I'm very happy with my Camillus.

I've seen this knife for sale at Walmart and all I can think of is wow the mall ninja zombie killer types must love these things. Any pics of what this terrific value can do?

^^^Beat me to it.

I noticed it's #1 in the Knives Illustrated Heavy duty best blades for hacking and chopping though. Tons of crap knives payed to be rated good in the guide this year.

This is a shame when praise has to be paid for, rather than simply demonstrated.

Camillus is gone. Only the trademark exists. I don't even consider buying a new one anymore no matter what you might say.
