Picked up the Mantra yesterday, only one word to describe it...Perfect!!!!!!!! It has kicked all the other knives in my rotation out of my pocket. its like a delica that went to reform school! Just wondering what everyone's experience and opinion is.

You've summed things up nicely for me. I love mine. It's so light and fast to use. If I could change one thing, it would be the liner lock. Mine feels a little difficult to disengage but it's not a huge deal.

Ten or fifteen minutes at a time. One group of lines with mustard. Wipe it off. At another group of lines me repeat.

Yep, been my EDC since day one. Awesome little blade, folds to the size of a Delica but has more blade length than a PM2, plus flipper.

Mine had a gritty feeling on deployment, fixed my Spyderco and is great now. The detent was pretty soft but I took it apart and gradually bent the lockbar in. There is now just a hair of daylight showing between the lockbar and the liner- that was the perfect compromise for me. Now my Mantra 2 flips hard but isn't tough to deploy. It is possible (albeit difficult) to get it to misfire, a great improvement from before the mod.

This knife, and the skinny version, are surprisingly good. I mean, really solid and appealing in hand, in a compact serious package. I bought a BUNCH of knives recently, and I'm having trouble getting any of the others into my pocket.

I like mine a lot too. I have purchased many Spydercos over the years, but generally find they don't get much pocket time. The Mantra is the exception as it has remained in my EDC rotation since I bought it. Great size, construction, and features. Glad to have an M4 blade.

How does everyone feel about the scales? I really like the design, but haven't been able to get over the fact that it has slick Ti scales.

They're fine for my uses. The ergos of the handle make up for the lack of traction on the scales. Locks up great in the hand.

It's not exactly slick -- it has a sandblast texture, like a sebenza. No issues with slipperiness for me.

It locks into the hand so it doesn't feel like its slick at all. I love the smooth ti scales, it slides in and out of the pocket very nicely. There is really nothing I would change about the mantra..
