Anyone ever bailed out?

I mean to test your bail-out-bag. Aside from taking out individual components and practicing with them, It seems to me that a BOB should actually be put through its paces. Otherwise, how would you know if your bail-out plan is remotely feasible?

What do you think would be a good way to test a bail-out-bag? Has anyone actually bailed out (for the weekend maybe) to test how things work?

just go commando for a weekend, grab your BOB and get to where ever you would go if you were going to bug out and live off your BOB all weekend or as long as you wish to test it. Thats the only way to make sure you have all you need/want in it.

I have bailed out with coffee cans and plastic icecream tubs, but never with a bag. I guess that if you have one of those collapsable buckets that are cloth with the spiral wire that makes them stand up like a bucket that could be used to get the water out fast enough to keep from sinking, but I would feel more comfortable with a solid can or bucket. A nice handle makes it more convenient to get more water per bail. Of course nothing beats a bilge pump, but that is hardly portable, and certainly nothing I would want to grab and run with. Especially if you have to carry the deep cycle battery and hose with it.

I do it every so often. I like to "tweek" my bag all the time. I think that using your bag is as important as having it.

Yes, I had to bail-out once. Forgot to put the drain plug back in and when I looked at the back of the boat..Holy smokes there was a good 8 inches! I didn't use a bag though  I always carried a bail-out bucket. Are you a land-lubber? or something?

Last week my crew and I had some spare time. I dug out my BOB fishing kit,we headed over to the nearest canal.caught a couple Nile Perch and a soft-shelled turtle. Good practice and a tasty meal too. POOL
