Does anyone out there own a knife made by
RUKO ? They are Taiwanese company that seems
to specialize in "knock offs"; I was eyeing a
CRK&T P.E.C.K. "knock off" by them in the
Sportsmans Guide.

RUKO is a Canadian distributer of outdoors-type products. I see them in the stores around here. In addition to knives, they also distribute stuff for fishing, hunting, etc. They have a whole line of knives with their name on them. Most of the knives are from Taiwan, a lot are copies of brand name knives (SOG, Benchmade, Spyderco, Schrade, etc.), and I wouldn't buy them, the quality is not impressive. I haven't noticed the particular knife you're talking about, but from what I've seen of their Taiwanese knives in general I would say to pass on them.

RUKO does distribute some good quality Spanish-made knives, such as Muela, a few of which I have. And they once had a nice line of Japanese-made knives, some with Aus8, I have a number of those, others with 440A, but those were finished a few years ago. But I wouldn't buy RUKO's Taiwan-made knives. They are not a quality Taiwan product, such as CRKT. Instead, they are just no-name junk. Those in Toronto can see a large selection of RUKO knives themselves at King Sol, on Queen St. W., at Bathurst.
