Anyone ever reblade a classic sebenza with an insigno blade?

I have been craving an insigno sebenza for quite some time now, but I am not a fan of the Idaho Made stamp. For the record, yes I have handled them in person, so I am not just biased towards them based on pictures. Anyhow that is neither here nor there. My point is that the insigno only comes on the newer sebenzas mainly those with the made stamps, but I swear by the classic (MM) models (the rounded lock bar makes it super easy on your thumb to unlock the knife). Does anyone have a classic MM with an insigno blade? It would need to be a rebladed knife as CRK never offered the insigno blade shape when they were producing the classic sebenzas.

I know its a shot in the dark... but maybe someone has one? I am pretty sure CRK would put an insigno blade on your knife if you asked them nicely enough... (:

Well I'm going to say no, since I asked if I could get an Insingo blade for my Large P which is like a classic but that was a no go.

But it would be worth a shot, you'll have to wait til Monday to ask since they close Fri-Sun.

Talk to Heather, she'll know for sure.

Aren't P sebenzas just something else though? Like in a different category all together? I thought the Classic/21 shared the same blades since some of the classics are known to use 21 blades and vice versa (based on the blade stampings). I can't remember though... its been a while since I've read up on the whole blade ordeal.

Maybe I'll give Heather a call Monday.

Thanks for the input!

"Unless I am mistaken the customer originally asked if he could purchase an Insingo blade for his existing (non Insingo) bladed knife. I told him we are not offering just the Insingo blade at this time and I don’t know if we ever will. We will happily re-blade any Sebenza 21 (or Classic 2000 as they are the same blade) with a damascus or standard 21 S35VN blade. There is no limit on how may knives we will do this with. What we won’t do, and I think this is where the confusion came in, is replace a standard 21 blade with a Tanto or Insingo blade. If a knife originally had one of these blades we will offer a replacement of the original type or of a 21 S35VN blade. We will also not sell the carbon fiber faces on their own in case that comes up. I hope this clears things up but if not email me at crkinfo@chrisreeve.com as I do not frequently check the forums.
Thank you,
Heather"

Awesome. Thanks, I guess mystery solved here.

The dreams of an insigno large micarta classic have been crushed! :(

It has been done with a small micarta 21, but it will supposedly void the warranty. I'm not sure if it would work with a classic or not. I've heard of 21 blades that were fitted into classic handles before so I'm sure it can be done. Just keep in mind that it will most likely void the warranty. Here is a link to the small micarta 21 with the insingo blade installed:

Yea, I could always swap the blade, but I wouldn't want to do that - I'd want a legit reblade. Considering it... but I don't really want to buy another knife just for a donor blade....

I did a Classic Micarta / Insingo blade swap well before it was available from CRK, just for fun and to see what the combo would look like.
