Considering it. Have a Standard Issue, and the bail gets in the way of the blade closing. Curious if it is a bad idea.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
I removed mine as it managed to chip the heck outta my blade. I suspect this happened when a friend used it. It's just a loop of thick wire, more or less, so you can remove it without worry.
It feels better in the hand, but it's nice to have as a lanyard attachment. I just drop mine in my pocket, so it's not an issue. The steel of the bail is fairly springy, so you should be able to snap it back in place with some pliers if you should ever need to.
Most people don't use the bail, and usually remove it sooner or later. If you don't use it it's just a nuisance.
...I didn't get anything. I found that my collecting of knives has been somewhat futile.. scared to carry anything, and I don't really cut much either. I ended up selling most of what I owned.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you hang around anyway. Not all of us are collectors.
