anyone ever see a.....

Nope, I haven't.

I think it's because DC knives are essentially satin finished first, and the corrugations make it very difficult to satin finish.

ok so.... it doesnt realy look like any other double cut finish i have done.... but its realy nicce

That is pretty darn sweet! I love the dimples in INFI--I might have to bead blast my Hell Razor now!

Ya - that does look cool! I like the metalic look!!

But wonder why the pockets in the INFI? To better hold the coating on? It would make it easer to finish and [if] on purpose would hold the coating better - mechanical retention....??

Interesting. Thanks for the pics!

.

dimples are nice, untill the start getting rust in them...

but then again i dont have a bead blast cabinet to fix that :D

those are wonderul pictures :)

the only way to polish them out is to grind half the knife away.... you should have seen it before i 'polished it'

great pics and thanks for posting them, i was waiting for soeone to blast a razor or jack.
I stripped and blasted a SJT, not near as pretty, kinda uuugly as a matter of fact. The finish is different on one side from the other, one side has the mini corrugations, and the other is just plain rough. :(

Take it down to 3/16" and you will have an anorexic HR.

This is the best and easiest way I've found to polish a blade. These pads can be bought at Sears for a few dollars. They are used for stripping paint and polishing. I use the Medium grit. They chuck right into your drill and you're off polishing. :D It really gets that final shine on the blade. And when it gets a little discolored or tarnished from use, a few seconds with the drill gets it right back to gleaming metal.

I think I'm going to make them a little larger yet, but I got tired of filing. :)

I used a 6 in Craftsman Round File.

VTW, Great lookin HR, by the way.

Maybe try out the drill-polishing idea and you'll be seeing your reflection in her!!

How time intensive was that? Would the EZ-Lap M make too large of a serration? I imagine diamonds would work a lot faster than steel that is only 2 or 4 RC hardness points harder than the INFI, but I don't know of any other thin, round diamond files... Anybody???
Good work there Gunsite, that looks like it'll work as intended, even if it took a while to get done :)
