My experience with Spyderco service was
absolutely top-notch.
I had a Delica which, over several months
of deep pocket carry, had reached a point
where the blade wouldn't close or open easily;
it was basically stuck where it shouldn't be.
After many attempts to clean & lubricate it myself,
I sent it to their service department, with an
explanatory note.
It arrived back at my house 10 days later,
without service charge (!) - good as new, and
sharpened, too (shaved paper, which it didn't
do before I sent it -- I know how to get it
that sharp myself, but didn't bother before
sending it, so I know they must have
sharpened it).
I did send it registered mail, which was
approximately $10 to send. Next time, I'd
pick UPS, because I suspect it would be
cheaper. My choice, my fault.
My point is, Spyderco service is so
old-fashionedly good, it's difficult to
believe...! I got a nice note from
Keith (warranty and repair) with the knife.
It almost felt like 30 years ago again - when
you could take someone at their word.
