Anyone ever strip the handles on a 940?

I tried searching for it (may have used the wrong keywords) but didn't come up with anything. I just bought a 940 and am wondering how it might look if I was to strip the green coating off the grips. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks

Some one stripped a 943, basically the same handle. He said it was difficult and the finish on the aluminum was really rough once it was stripped. Look for the post. I'm on a phone, can't help much more.
