Anyone ever tried "tiger striping" a Becker by only stripping coating off in stripes?

Dad just got the idea of stripping coating from the blade in stripes so it keeps some coating and gives it a pattern, anyone ever tried it?

I think a tiger stripe patina would be better. But, it won't hurt anything to try. If you don't like it just strip the rest.

My 7 is pretty much stock. Been trying to figure out what I'm going to do to her...maybe I'll try this over my weekend...

I tried this on my 15 a few months ago. ....and well it failed but it doesn't look to bad. I would post a pick but since the computer is down ,I don't have the patience to do it from my phone

Aesthetically, stripes of bare metal and sharp edged paint isn't very attractive. If I wanted stripes, I'd paint stripes on the black paint or patina dark steel against the light steel.
