I love this knife. I know its been said, but had to say it anyway. I have EDC'ed my wally world native with a black zip tie in the spyder hole. It does work but it is very fugly, so she might get the chop chop tonight. Has this been done, and how hard is CMPS30V to cut with a dremel? Thanks in advance.

It's been a while and I'm not too sure which forum it was on, but some one waved a native and it wasn't very pretty. Most of the front top edge was notched out but it worked pretty well. It just looked like hell.

I did a BM 630 Skirmish, in S30 it wasn't bad, didn't take long with a cut off wheel. Then some stones and carbide cutters to smooth it out. Email me and I can tell you more.

yeah, after thinking about it and looking at it. I think the handle is not going to give me enough clearence for the wave mod. Funds are tight right now, two babys boys and much much more debts, anyways I am just going to keep the zip tie untill I can get a waved Delica.

After I bought a waved endura, I had to try to ziptie my native. As ugly as it looks, it's a pretty awesome knife to have waved for quick utility.

STR over at the spyderco forum waved a para-millie. He said it'd be his last
s30v blade he'd wave. apparantly it was much harder to grind than vg-10.

Why do you call it a Wally World Native? It is no different from the same knife sold anywhere else. I put on my Sears Nike's and JCPenney Levi's, then I hopped in my John Elway Ford pickup to drive down to Bob's Knives. On the way, I bought a 7-11 Pepsi because I was really thirsty. I wanted to buy the Bob's Knife Native, but Bob refused to sell it to me because I forgot to put on a Sam's Town Fruit of the Loom T-Shirt.
:D

It just kind of became synonymous with the S30V native. I still call it the S30V just because it's easier...but I find the walmart references amusing, nonetheless

Because of the distance of the spyderhole from the centerline of the knife, I've always wondered how well the native would wave (as opposed to knives with an offset hole like the rescue).
I would personally recomend using a belt grinder to do the wave mod, as you have much more control than a dremmel and it makes finishing much easier. A cheap-ass one can be had from craftsman for around $30, if they still make it.

what is the point of the "waving"? or the zip-tie for that matter?

and can you still get the s30v version at Wal-Mart? i haven't looked too closely at the local ones lately and i don't see them on the website

they look to be like $50 online...

Waving is for a kind of quickdraw....the wave or zip tie catches on the pocket and pulls the blade open while you pull it out.

No problem, apparently I have a Wally world bug up my buttocks...:D

In the past it was just a Native or an S30V Native or model C41 or...
but suddenly when it went for sale at Wally world it became the Walmart Native or Wally world native to many many folks, as if it was different so how, which of course it isn't. The Walmart Native just lets us know where you shop and that you paid a good price for one. Sorry if it sounded like I was jumping all over you, I was really just taking the opportunity to voice my opinion out loud. :o
