Just saw this a few days ago and decide to pull the trigger. I haven't bought a benchmade for a while since the MAP pricing and the decline in qc. I had to buy this one though. Benchmade was the first nice knife I purchased when I started collecting and was my favorite company for years. The ruckus/mini ruckus was a grail knife for me that I never had a chance to buy. I'm sincerely hoping that this knife will be reminiscent of my benchmades of old and not like some of the more recent examples I've handled. What are my fellow forumites thoughts on this knife?

I had the original Rukus and it was my EDC for a couple of years. I loved that knife and thought it was really great.
I probably wouldn't go for the mini because I like larger knives, but I hope your new one is as good as my original
Rukus. If so you should be very pleased. Congrats on your score.

The Rukus is an awesome design, the colors on this one don't work for me but I'm holding my breath for more LE Rukus versions. Let us know how you like it.

Will do. I have seen some of the original mini ruckus scales (both the green and the interchangeable ones) floating around for sale. It would be interesting to see if they would fit on this one. Now the wait begins haha.

What model # is that? The only recent mini Rukus I've seen is the shot show '15 release, 615BK-1501.

Benchmade Mini Rukus 615BK-1501 2015 Shot Show Exclusive: $179.95 shipped at KnifeWorks

That's a great price. They were selling for $200-$250 just a month ago.

Tempting.... though I like the looks of the older Rukus more. I used to have the fullsize, but I still have the mini-auto version.

I picked up the 615-1401 and 615-1501. Both exceeded my expectations and in a big way.

I'm generally not into "mini's" as I prefer a larger blade but BM really got these right. The handle to blade ratio is such that it fills my hand perfectly and looks and feels like a larger knife then it actually is. F&F on both was fantastic. .

Used a flash for the pic's so there's a bit of wash in the color but you can still get a sense.

Congrats OP ! I'm sure you'll love yours too.

All the best!

If they had a stonewash blade and a green canvas micarta handle, I'd be sold.

Thanks for the input everyone and especially those pics. Doesn't make waiting any easier, but I am looking forward to this knife in a way I haven't in years.

I really wish BM wouldn't put the Limited Edition billboard all across the blade. It looks horrible :barf:

I love BM, but the blade just looks a bit too short for the handle length to me.

I agree that the limited edition labeling all over the blade is non desirable. My only consolation is once I get that first scratch on the blade the honey moon period will be over and I will be using that knife hard so the writing is temporary :D
