I've been looking at some knives from a maker/seller in England for quite some time and I've decided to take the plunge. I just purchased this folder and wondered if anyone here has had experience with this maker/seller (Alistar Knives/Kniveslove) .

I expect the knife to arrive within the next week or so, and will update this thread with my impression of it when I get my grubby little hands on it.;) The Damascus is a mix of 1095 and 15N20 with an advertised hardness of 52-55

If anyone has any of their knives or other knowledge of this maker, I'd appreciate any comments.

Thanks!

I have purchased about 30 damascus blade knives fro Knifelove so far, most of which were Alistar, and all were as described and of excellent quality. A few turned out to be much smaller than I had anticipated and I was surprised but that was due to me not reading the info carefully. The shipping charges were steep relative to other knife sellers in N.A. but the knife quality makes up for the added expense. I especially like the good quality leather sheaths provided with each knife as well. I buy primarily knives for sporting use (skinners and hunters) and all have been hefty, sturdy, well made, and very pleasing aesthetically. They should all provide years if not generations of use if given the recommended minimal care!
I see that they are not listing any items on their web site right now, which is unfortunate as I rely on them for supply of knives that are not avaialble elsewhere!....hope this helps you.....karl

Thanks for the input Karl. Having used this knife for a while now, I'm quite pleased with it. It needed a bit of sharpening out of the box, and a few of the pins were a bit proud, but easily taken care of. It does not have a very robust liner-lock so it isn't a hard use knife by any means, but the knife isn't expected to be IMO. The liner-lock is precise, and well fitted, but of relatively thin material with some "give" to it.

I like the knife very much... enough so that I would buy another.

These knives are made in Pakistan and sold in UK.
They made fantistic auction photos, but you have to be careful about the quality sometimes.
There are many Pakistani people selling Damascus knives in UK.
This is a fact known by many collectors.
The Kniveslove don't make knives; therefore, they switched to different suppliers time to time when the quality was going down.
They now had problem about the quality and suppliers.
You can tell from their feedbacks.
Some of them pretend the knives are made in Sweden, UK or European countries.
The winning price on eBay for such kind of knives will be less if they say they are selling Pakistan made knives.
As my experience, some Pakistan made Damascus knives are above the average.
And surely some Pakistan made knives are junk.

It looks like TorchRiverSask is the guy behind Knifeslove ;D If the knifes are sooooo good, why buy 30 of them? ;D
