Anyone familiar with Greco Knives?

I saw an ad for Greco Knives in the current Blade magazine with a nice looking fixed blade called the Clip Tip Fighter.
Has anyone had any experience with this maker? I'll be calling him Monday and wondered if he was well known in the knife community. The name rings a bell, but my memory's not what it used to be.

I have purchased two knives from John Greco and I carry a Greco Persian daily.
IMHO John makes the best $100 knife you can buy.
Great designs, super steel (A2), good heat treatment, excellent leather sheath.
I don't know how he does it.
Also, a very knowledgeable and thoroughly pleasant person.
I intend to buy another Greco in the future, and I watch his designs (they evolve) to see what might appeal to me.

I completely agree with Ken Cox.

I have one of their knives. I don't think you can get a better value, especially considering how little they charge!

I might order another one of their knives when they start making bigger knives a few months from now.

I actually got to meet Mr. Greco at the Chicago Knife Show last month, and he's a pretty cool dude! While I don't have any of his knives, I did get to hold most of his models. Thick, heavy duty knives, with a nice finish. His wife was there also; very friendly. I'm currently begging my wife for a Greco Companion for Christmas...

Go ahead and order. Good knife for the money. Nice guy. You won't be disappointed.

He likes to use 1/4" thick stock. Recently, ge has models that are 3/16". That may be of interest of to you if you have a preference.

I met him at Blade. He is a straight shooter and his knives have alot of bang for the buck. A custom knife for $100 ain't too uncommon these days, but one made out of 1/4" stock that will take massive amounts of abuse and smile afterwards is rare.

I do not own one of his knives yet, but I do have alot of respect for them and the maker.

I recently got to meet John Greco, he sat behind me at the Winston Salemn show in Sept.

He is a great guy. Super nice, builds a great prodcut. Ask him about his new leather too.
