I tried the search feature , but it keeps acting funny . Anyways , I saw A Mantis folding Karambit made of AUS8 in one of the newest knife mags . I thought it looked pretty good , and it could be had for around $50.00 , so ......... I'm looking for imput.

I'm sure you'll hear things like "rip-off artists" and "cheapo". I, personally, wouldn't call their designs rip-offs at all. To be honest, I like the designs of a few of their knives. Would I buy one? Only if it was really inexpensive and right in front of me. In other words, I wouldn't go out of my way for one. The reason is simple; I'm not impressed with the steel choice on the ones I do like. Now, 420HC isn't neccessarily a bad steel. I just don't care for it, personally. The one design I think is cool (admittedly for its unique look) is the small neck knife with the 'reverse tanto' blade and red grommet looking deals in the handle. However, even if I buy a knife because of its aesthetics, I still expect it to be able to perform (like the Spyderco SPOT, for instance), and I have read nothing about the performance of their knives.

For fifty dollars you could find a nice Waved Spyderco Endura or 2 G-10 cara Cara's. For that reason I wouldn't wastew my money on what are IMHO sub-par knives.

most of their fixed blades look really uncomfortable to hold.
huh.... interesting.
