Hi there Brian,

I've no idea about that Quench oil you're asking and I also have "quech oil" that I don't kow what is it good for. I hope you won't mind me posting it here instead of making another thread. What I have is a: Texaco QUENCHTEX B OIL. Would appreciate any comment about it specially as to what kind of steel is it good for.

I just realized the manufacturer did not paste in the original post. The quench oil is made by "Condat". It is not "DoAll S-100". From what I gather this oil would work well for O1, 5160, L6, 52100 probably 1075, 1084, and maybe 1095. They claim 10 seconds for speed, would that qualify this oil for 1095?

yuo finding that stuff locally Melsdad??

WOW! I finally find a member that is close to me!

To answer your question I am looking into this oil for at work, but would like to use it for knives at home as well, if it will be suitable. I do have a local distributer in Irwin PA. The price I was quoted was $66.50 for 5 gallons.

I grew up across the river from ya :-)
I'd be interested in hearing more about that quenchant.
