Morel mushrooms yet???

We just had 3 days of 80 degrees here in eastern Iowa, and it's been misting/raining all day. Heading to Dad's here in a couple days for spring turkey season and morel mushroom hunting. I can't wait!

We're supposed to get a little rain and then things should be prime in a week or so. The old timers around here say to start looking when the oak leaves are the size of squirrel ears.--KV
 
Been out 4/four times, not a thing.

Spose to rain for the next 2/two days, thursday, maybe, definatly saturday or sunday.

Yesterday was a good day. We picked a reasonable bag and could have kept going but my 2 year hold was constantly saying "Jeep home, Jeep home"
 
The mushrooms just didnt come up this year . I found 1 . Thats all right there are others to come . Shaggys , hens , chicks , oysters , Chanterelle's will be up later .
 
Got out for a couple hours yesterday. I found this small patch along an active game trail. There were
a couple more in the line that I couldn't get in the shot. Please excuse the quality of my cel-phone pic.
