The Oregon Constitution assures even broader rights to keep and bear than the US Constitution. And the Oregon Supreme Court has taken a very permissive reading of it. The result is that most everything is legal to own. Switchblades can be carried non-concealed, but the definition of non-concealed is highly premissive.
However, if you are also into property rights, you will not like Oregon. This state is the home of Urban Planning and Land Use Control in the United State.
Depending on where you want to live, real estate prices are very high. A thousand square foot apartment in Downtown Portland will run you at least $350,000. Unemployment is, as Mr. Cliph noted, is still pretty high. Depending on what you want, many jobs are very tight.
Oh, and it's a myth that it rains a lot in the Portland area. It only rains once per year; of course it starts in September and doesn't end until June... but it's just one storm per year.
