Got my Kershaw 1678 Camber and it really is a great little folder.
The SpeedSafe works like a charm using the jimped flipper button and locks up solid using shortened liner locks.
Very sharp and centered S30V blade with nice grind, stonewashing and no blade play. The blade length is actually 3.1" not 3" with a thickness of 0.118". Being a flat grind should make it a good slicer.
The traction inserts actually help with a better grip over the ZT 0770. More like the ZT 0400.
It weighs 3.86 ounces which is identical to the ZT 0770 with a 3.25" blade.
Minor gripes: no jimping on the blade spine which the 0770 has. The aforementioned big "Kershaw SpeedSafe USA" logo on the handle. Reverse side handle has no traction insert in the lower part in case you're left-handed and decide to switch the clip to the other side.
This is the best folder in the Kershaw line for me so far. It's very well made using premium material.
Here's the kicker. I got it brand new from a Kershaw dealer for just $76.99 delivered!!
I'll post some pictures later along with a 0770 side by side. It's narrower and shorter than the 0770.
Comparison pictures of Kershaw Camber and ZT 0770:
Also, for those needing jimping on the flipper for a ZT 0770 they added that to later serial numbers.
I noticed that the early ZT 0770 with serial numbers around 1000 and less there's no jimping on the flipper, there is jimping on the lock bar and the stonewashing is subdued. Fast forward to the last 0770 I got with a serial number above 2000 and that one has jimping on the flipper, no jimping on the lock bar and the stonewashing is much more pronounced. So, I guess there are two versions to cater for different tastes. By the way, the 0770CF and 0770CF-M390 both are like the latter 0770.
ZT 0770 Gen 1 on the right with jimping on lock bar but not the flipper and ZT 0770 Gen 2 on the left with jimping on flipper but not on the lock bar. As I mentioned before, 0770CF and 0770CF-M390 are like 0770 Gen 2 with jimping only on the flipper.
