Here where I am in Jersey, the forecast is for up to 18", but we have a mere 2" now, and it's been coming down since 9PM yesterday.

18" would virtually be over the head of my smallest sheltie. That would be a fun thing to see.

I slogged through snow from Chicago to central PA yesterday in this white carp.
Now I'm stuck in the town I believe was named for Michael Jackson (DuBois).
I-80 is closed so I am waiting it out. I know someone here lives in DuBois, perhaps a hike is in order.:cool:

You were in the Chicago area and did not let me know?

I was all screwed up there. They sent me in, not far from your house(Sauk Village) and it took seven hours to load the truck. All while moving from dock to dock. Then I had barely time to make my appointments in CT and VT. Now, with the snow I can't make it anyway.
If I had any time at all, I was going to call but I didn't.:grumpy:

We're getting slammed here. 29" last weekend, 20 more today. It's real bad. I think parts of Maryland will be crippled.

I've got alot of family in Jersey and they got a ton of snow.
We only got a little here in Virgina Beach. But i'm loving every bit of it.

Only started at around 10am or so in my part of CT. Not much on the ground yet.

Yep,Here in NJ too(Union county). There's about 6" on the ground now. We're expecting 12"-18".No work today.Probably for the better...

We ended up with about 10" in S/E MI. It's our first "real" snow of the season.

We got about 4" here. Not much but enough to cause people to drive ignorant.:grumpy:

Blue Mountain, where I do my woods-bumming, has been buried for months. It has been a beautiful winter, with plenty of snowshoeing outings. We haven't seen any of this latest blast of snow from the US, though. I hope you are all coping well. For me, the more snow, the merrier, but it can be a real hassle - especially if you aren't used to it (I hear Philly is pretty much socked in).

All the best,

- Mike

Reading PA got hit pretty hard compared to what we've had this season. Easily two feet over yesterday and today. That and it is really heavy/compactable snow. Don't think it'll snow anymore, but clearing everything up will be a mess. There was a news report about 200 cars/trucks being stuck on I-78. Not sure how long they were stuck or are stuck even.

Crazy that Maryland got 29" last weekend, plus 20" more this week.

So is this a good time to mention that it was 65 today?

It is sprinkling right now, if that's any consolation? :P

I'm up in Morris county, in Jersey. We got close to 20 inches, depending where you measure it.
First time since we have had our dogs that the snow was literally over their heads! So, technically, our snow was 1 sheltie deep.
When I was walking around digging out the trucks, the 3 dogs followed me thru my trail like a little train. I could not turn around, as they were always exactly where I was (could not turn themselves) so we have a convoluted series of trails throughout the yard. The only way back to anywhere was a new path.

When I let them out now, it's like having a toy racetrack. One goes that way, one heads off down the other path. Will they crash headon? Can they make that turn at full sheltie-super-speed and not wipe out?

I'm pretty happy with my Wife. The day before the snow, she went out and harvested a ton of wood. We are good for at least a week with what she just got. Good thinking on her part.
