Hey Folks-

Check this out:

Kind of an interesting collection of knives going up for auction right now on eBay, with a LOT of Buck models, but I still haven't seen anyone bite. That opening bid is a little steep, I think. If this collection was for JUST the Bucks, I'd be tempted, but I'm not certain just how much you could re-sell the others for (Like that John Wayne knife. Not my cup of tea). Anyone know? I'd probably keep most of the Bucks, and re-sell a few of them. Either way, kind of a neat collection going. I hope it's not because we lost another member from the BCCI and their collection is being liquidated, although that certainly could be possible. Too many BCCI folks have passed away or been really sick in the last couple of years.

It's prob an ok deal for $800, but there's nothing in the collection that I really like. A lot of this collection consists of stuff that was designed to be collected-sort of like those Franklin Mint dinner plates. I much prefer the plain jane 110 or a indiviual costom-Buck knives arent' supposed to live in glass display cases next to the prize china. They're made to live in the back pockets of American men and to be up to any cutting task that comes to hand-weather it be a farmer opening a feed bag at 4am or a bartender closing down at 4am .
Just my late nite 2$

I think godot is pretty much right on. Besides, they wouldn't ship to me, a dam ferener, anyway. The only thing is, if you parsed this collection out you would make a ton of dough. I bet that Yellowhorse would cover a quarter of it all by itself.

All I know is that I need to be more careful about choosing to look at any auction threads, in case I might stumble on such a collection of Bucks. Makes me want to get several more. ;)

Seeing who bought them, I guess that we might well be seeing them again as singles on Ebay :)

I Agree. I was outbid by some real pro ebay re-sellers. I've added the winning bidder as a "favorite seller" so I will be keeping an eye out for some of those knives.

Thankfully, I won't have to do anything with that John Wayne monstrosity!
