Just curious if anyone on this forum is going. What's it like. Not interested in selling. Is it worth going to to pick up supplies? Or is it just a bunch of folks selling cheap China knifes?

The one time I went was on the first day early, many vendors had not set up yet, so there wasn’t a lot to see. I’m waiting to see if Josh Wisor is going to set up a couple tables, might be something interesting on his. If I go it will be early on the second day.
Stacy could tell you more about it, I think he was a frequent vendor in the past.

The show is on, and I will be there. I will have lots of handle material and some jewelry and other stuff. Not as many knives, as I haven't got the new shop up to production yet. and the inventory is low. If someone wants something specific, email me and I try and will bring it.

Yea I’m going. My dad will be set up with his buddy who runs the show. Always fun seeing what’s there. I go every year, some better then others. I have picked up some great pieces from there and direct from makers, and then some factory made knives. Always a good time

The SVKC show is the friendliest show I have ever been to. Most of the folks there are with their spouses and families. No wierdos and Goths looking for Klingon swords. No guns or military hardware. Just knives (mostly handmade), and supplies.

I was just informed that there will be a big vendor turnout this year, upwards of 212 tables, only 10 or 12 currently left. Sounds like a good time.

It's kind of a combination show. The first couple tables as you enter are guys from the local Collectors club showing off their collections. Pops' Knife Supply used to have a couple tables in the second room on the right, but they're under new management so don't know if they'll be there or not. Most tables have at least a few pieces of handle material, premade sheaths, knife steel ( some pattern welded ) or other making supplies. There are quite a few makers with their custom knives, and vendors with factory blades. I have bought many pieces of wooden handle material from a guy in the second room that brings in the drops from his job. ( African Blackwood and Cocobolo are my favorites.) My wife and I are there when the doors open on Saturday, and have to be pushed out at closing time. :-) ( We spend as much time talking to friends that we see only there as we do looking at knives. ) Not having had it for a couple years, I'm hoping for a good one this year.

IIRC, Popp's Knife Supply Company will be there. The new folks are doing a good job keeping it like it was, plus some new stuff.

Pop's will not be there. I was at Pop's yesterday and asked them. They will be at the show in Dallas/Ft Worth that weekend.

Shenandoah is a quality knife show with a good representation of antique and modern custom knives. I will be there with two tables of antique knives and WW2 US military knives. Since I am not a knife maker I don't know who will be selling supplies but there are usually a few vendors of such items. Not much in the way of cheap Chinese junk at this show.

Well I've been wanting to go to this knife show for years. Looks like it's going to be another year. Last minute babysitting my granddaughter became necessary. It's all good.
