Uhmmmm, a slight conflict in terms sir. Gelbu is management at BirGorkha (he's not a Kami). Although HI does sell a (Udhaipur) style of Khukuri named after him, 'The Gelbu Special'. Sirupati is another/different style of Khukuri altogether.
 
Gelbu doesn't make 'em - he is the Mgr. at Kathmandu, chief buyer, gatherer of Villagers, recruiter of kamis and all-around hard working' guy.

Actually, I can make a better khukuri than Gelbu. If you paid more than a dollar for the Gelbu khukuri you got a poor deal.

It's got to be nomenclature.

Get a khukuri by Sanu or Bura and you've got a winner. In fact, how about a nice Kothimoda by Bura?

It would be interesting to see what kami's mark is on the khuk offered in trade either on a Gelbu Special or Sirupati.
That is unless it has a serial number and is stamped, "Made by KGR.";) :p :rolleyes: :D
Although I don't think the Gelbu Special was being made at the time KGR was marking all the khukuris made at Shop 2, before it became BirGhorka, could be wrong though.;)
